Hi there. I’m Chris Govias.

I’m a designer who helps corporations, businesses (large and small), not-for-profits, and governments with service design, experience design, and design thinking. I occasionally do some writing.

These days, I’m Chief Design Officer for Versett. I was a founding member of the Canadian Digital Service, an initiative from the Government of Canada to design and deliver simple, easy to use services. As CDS’s Chief of Design, I worked with roleholders from departments and ministries to tackle wicked problems. My “tour of duty” with CDS ended in April 2020 but I still work at the intersection of people, design, technology, and service delivery (people is the important word in that sentence).

Previously, I was the Head of Design (UX, Interaction & Service Design) for the Ministry of Justice, with the UK Government. And before that, I was a Design Lead at the world's largest travel company, Expedia.

I've worked across numerous sectors – B2B, B2C, private, and government – and designed everything from complex, admin-facing, content management systems to consumer-facing microsites and startups.
